Katie Sanders, NCACIP, NCFRC, BA Finance
Katie Sanders began her recovery career working as a counselor in a private detox in Alpharetta, Georgia. Most recently, she has been providing sober services such as coaching, intervention and companion services to individuals and families on a highly confidential basis.
Katie’s career in detox initiated after completing time in a sober community learning the importance of developing a recovery program to increase chances for long term sobriety. She had a broad range of experience in 12 Step programs, developing sober relationships, crisis intervention and relapse prevention.
Katie’s experience in detox set the stage for Katie to pursue her passion outside a corporation and into the lives of individuals and families struggling to “get and remain” sober. Katie believes removing the addiction or seeking help for mental health is the first step in recovery. The next step in the journey is establishing an individual program of recovery to garner a “Happy, Joyous and Free” way of life!
Katie has maintained a high rate of success working in private interventions with the goal of encouraging an individual to take the next step, with appropriate boundaries, to get the help that is warranted for each crisis situation. Katie has also guided many to establishing a life where recovery comes before other responsibilities in life so life responsibilities can be met with ease and comfort.
Katie received her Bachelor of Finance and Risk Management Insurance, with Honors, from the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia. She is a Nationally Certified Advanced Clinical Interventional Professional (NCACIP) and a Nationally Certified Family Recovery Coach (NCFRC) in the country. As a speaker and sponsor in a 12 Step program, Katie is in high demand.
Katie lives in Johns Creek, Georgia but travels throughout the country helping anyone who is in need of a drastic change in their way of life. When not on call, Katie enjoys working out, cold plunging, cheering the Atlanta Braves, attending concerts and festivals, speaking French and dreaming of her life on the road in an Airstream RV meeting others in recovery!
Adam B. Stephens, LPC
Adam graduated from the University of North Georgia with a master's degree in counseling with an emphasis in addiction. Adam was the first student accepted into the inaugural Addiction’s Track at UNG and part of the track’s first graduating class. Adam has a passion for serving those with mental health and addiction needs due to his personal experience with addiction and current need for quality addiction and mental health counseling.
Outside of addiction Adam has a knack for spiritual counseling, grief, and existentialism or "meaning" therapy as well as relating to the "lost" young man in this confusing world. Adam has volunteered with the American Foundation for Suicide prevention, teaches motivational interviewing to counseling students, has been interviewed about addiction on various platforms (podcast, radio, etc.), and is constantly keeping up with the latest findings in addiction recovery, counseling.
Adam moonlights as a mobile crisis responder in metro Atlanta aiding those who are experiencing a severe mental health crisis. In his free time, Adam is a father of two, listens to podcast, roots for The Atlanta Braves, travels, exercises and perfects his chili recipe (it’s really good btw!). Adam’s biggest strength is his natural curiosity of his fellows and desire to see people get better.
Jason Sanders
My sobriety date is January 5, 2022. I’m originally from Savannah, Georgia and have mostly lived the Atlanta area. I started drinking in college regularly and it progressively got worse as time passed. After divorce, bankruptcy, and my mother’s passing, I began to drink every night. After several bodily injuries, due to drinking, I wrecked my fathers truck and decided it was time for a change because I knew my future was jail or even death!
I reached out to Katie for help and received more than I could have ever imagined! Solutions begin to appear the very night I asked for help and the next day I flew to a detox center. From detox, I entered into a men’s recovery program for the next six months!
Today my life is completely different! I am happy, clear headed, and have amazing relationships with people in my family and in recovery. The recovery center I attended is still in my life every day. I help out guys who want help. I hope to play an integral role in the lives of others wanting to pursue a new life. I serve on the North Atlanta Regional Council for Narcotics Anonymous deciding what special events come to Atlanta while voting on recovery issues within the region.
I decided to become certified in sober companionship, under Katie, as I understand the challenges one can face newly sober. Whether it is providing a safe space in the airport to attend treatment or showing up with confidence at the next business event or family function, I know taking the next right step for recovery will pay numerous dividends. I can’t wait to meet you and work with you!
